Let’s celebrate “Yalda” in Mountain !

Celebrate the winter solstice with a refreshing morning hike to these beautiful, snow-covered lakes! This day also marks “Yalda” night for Farsi speakers (Iranians), a tradition dating back to 502 BC, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness. Yalda means “birth” in Syriac, and the night is celebrated with gatherings to welcome the return of longer days.

• Equipment: Your version of 10 Essential,   micro-spikes , 2l water, headlamp, warm and waterproof layers.

• Enjoy limited sunlight while embracing the brisk winter air.
• Return to Seattle early enough for last-minute shopping or continue Yalda festivities.

What to Bring:

• Dress in warm, layered clothing suitable for rain, snow, and wind.
• Pomegranate, Watermelon , Fruits, Nuts and any decoration for the Yalda setting

Depending on the rain and temperatures in the next few days, the road to the trailhead may or may not have snow on it. Small sedans may have some difficulty getting to the trailhead.
